Younger students should get involved through their high school career by Lynn - April 2016 Scholarship Essay
Being a senior in high school, I wish that I was given more advice to help me get through high school more easily. If I had to give younger students one piece of advice it would be to get involved with school sports, clubs and activities. Your high school experience will be so much more fun and it will go by so much faster if you join clubs.
My freshmen year I got involved with school volleyball as well as photography club. I was very interested in photography club because I liked to go out and take pictures of the landscape. My sophomore year I joined French Honor Society and I was active in it my participating in French cultured activities that I really enjoyed. Also, as a sophomore I was playing varsity volleyball and that made the year go by so fast. During my junior year I stayed in French Honor Society and varsity volleyball and also joined my Fresh Start mentoring program which was a program that helped the freshmen get through their freshmen year, with advice and any problems or issues they were having they could openly share with us. Lastly, my senior year, I was selected to be the recording secretary for French Honor Society, I was still a part in the Fresh Start mentoring program and I started to be an active member in yearbook club. I was the head photographer and I helped put pages together.
Getting involved in school clubs and activities is a lot of fun because you meet so many new people who have the same interests as you. It makes your high school career go by fast while having fun.
