My Life in Ten Years by Luis - December 2015 Scholarship Essay

In ten years I see me myself living a life that some would call “spoiled”. My future lifestyle will resemble a life that I do not currently live. The drive and motivation that resides in me to achieve this lifestyle comes from the lack of living this lifestyle as I grew up. I would say that in about ten years I see myself living in the center of Chelsea, New York. I will be residing in the penthouse at the Walker Tower and will be working as a real estate agent under Stribling & Associates, a premier player in Manhattan’s real estate market.
My focus will be on creating and opening my own real estate agency, where I will be working on the legal and financial issues involved in opening my own company. In addition I will be working on another life goal of mine. I will be gathering research and financial information on different national charities. Once I have gathered all the information needed, I will then be contacting a team of lawyers that will help me create my own charity foundation. My goal is to have these two companies up and running in less than six months. Once I've stabilized and grown these two companies individually, I will be searching for investors.
In this stage of my future I will be conducting meetings with many different investors; I will be explaining the vision of my companies and what I plan to achieve with their investment in my companies. After hosting many meetings it will be time to sign the legal documents to begin this investment. Once legal documents have been signed, the companies will then create an outlined plan on what I intend to do with the investment. All this will be done to make sure the investment is used properly and in the best manner possible. My initial goal with this investment is to take both companies public that year. Establishing a board of directors will be the next project on my list of goals. I will host several meetings in order to discover investors who would like to take part in being a board member.
In ten years, with this energetic plan, my dreams will be realized, and I feel without my good education I could not get to the place I intend to be at. I will have a master’s degree in financing and business administration. Without this education, I feel that I would not get as far in life as I intend. I also I feel that without an education, some people could not take me seriously. As I move forward in my life and try to accomplish my goals, the education that I’ll receive will encourage people to support me as I’m working towards my goals. If a lawyer and/or investor wanted to partner with me and noticed that I did not hold some type of degree, he/she might feel that I did not have the initiative to receive an appropriate education. Obtaining a degree would prove that I took courses and succeeded. In the eyes of many people that is a sign of strong will power and self-initiative.
In ten years I will be living a luxurious life in the greatest city in the world. I will be living in the center of Chelsea, New York and will be working to gain a foundation in real estate at Stribling & Associates. My education in finance and business will afford me the opportunity to not only dream but to realize the goals that I’ve set for myself.
