Impact on high school by Louis - November 2019 Scholarship Essay

I feel I have impacted my high school in a positive way with the scores I received on my standardized tests and my admission into NYU. This high school has never been known for it's test results or it's students getting admission into well known universities. I have been able to change that perception of this school.
Through dedication and hard work I was able to achieve top 95 percentile scores for both the ACT and SAT and this enabled me to apply to most any university of my choosing. It took me no time to apply to NYU under early admission and I was quickly accepted thus initiating a buzz amongst staff and students at my school as to what could be achieved if the work and effort was put into it.
There is another nearby high school that tries to recruit students away from thus school with the advertising that they will have you more college ready than other high schools in the area. I was also recruited by this school but choose to attend the traditional high school instead. Not only did I prove that this high school could provide the proper education for college but I also achieved a higher score than all but one student in the college ready high school.
MY accomplishments throughout my high school career have now made this high school an option that parents and students consider now more than they did before . Thank you
