The Coffee Person by Lori - January 2019 Scholarship Essay

We all have a to-do list; maybe it is homework, stuff with work, etc. We all also have things we enjoy doing for fun. For many, these things are far more important than their sleep. So many people get inadequate sleep because of all the things they have to and want to do. There are also those who sleep all the time with no worries. I am a perfect mixture between these two extremes. I love getting my sleep, but I am also a very productive and busy person.

Part of me loves to do things I enjoy at night, such as hanging out with my friends or watching a movie. I will stay up as late as I can when I am with my friends. This is the night owl side of me. The only time I am not a night owl is when I have to wake up early the next morning for work or school.

The morning person side of me did not realize I like mornings so much until I started drinking coffee. Coffee change the game for me. I do not enjoy waking up to my alarm in the morning, but I will sleep all day if I do not set one. I push back getting up until I really have to. Although I do not enjoy waking up early, I am glad I did once I am awake and have had some coffee. Once I am up, I have so much energy and motivation to get things done. Coffee has made a huge impact on my life, especially my grades.

With this being said, I am neither a morning person or a night person; it just depends on the day. I love my sleep, but I am also a productive person. I love mornings when coffee is involved, but I love nights when something fun is involved.
