Everybody in the United States has heard the phrase “money makes the world go round.” However, I have to disagree with this popular statement. Money is just a tool of the real world-turners—businessmen (and women, of course). Economics predicts the future and corporations dictate our everyday life. Business is so ingrained in our society that we simply could not live without it or the people who study it.
With an education in this multifaceted field I could not only work virtually anywhere and earn a wage large enough to support myself and my family, but I can also support job-making industries and create a platform for innovation. Many people have an idea of business that is solely limited to suits and offices and briefcases, but business is so much more than that. Business is what opens factories and stores, creating shining beacons for those who want to work and those who want to consume alike. Another way to look at it is that everybody’s favorite products exist and can be obtained so easily because of this plentiful field of study.
Not to mention, business teaches vital skills to all those that encounter this subject matter that can be applied to practically everything one does in life. Communication skills? Check! Marketing or persuasiveness? You got it! Budgeting? Of course! There is no better way to not only serve your community while helping yourself at the same time than with skills derived from the business world. These reasons fuel my passion for the area of study and why I hope to go to college to study business after high school.
