Out With Self Doubt- Think Positive by Lexie - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
As the youngest of three girls, I have often felt that I have big shoes to fill. From basketball to academics, I have always questioned how I stacked up. My older sisters excelled on the court and in the classroom, both being salutatorians of their class and one getting a full ride in basketball. Growing up, I have always looked up to and admired my older sisters because of their hard work and dedication. I have always been more reserved and quiet and have worked hard to overcome my shyness.
My new year's resolution is to not doubt my abilities and focus on the positive things I have going for me. I have worked really hard on the court and in the classroom to be my own person. I make good grades and have worked really hard to be a good student in the classroom and on the court. With my new year's resolution I am focusing on being positive and not allowing myself to doubt or question my abilities. Doubt only holds me back from achieving the bigger things in life. I feel that through positive thinking, I can accomplish the goals I have set for myself now and throughout life.
