In The Back by Leilani - December 2024 Scholarship Essay
Being a student these days isn't nearly as easy as it used to be, nowadays students are over worked and overseen. Coming into highschool, Freshman year, you couldn't be more excited to experience the "high school life" that everyone adored and boasted about. Now,as a Senior, I can't wait to get out. High School isn't as grand as it is in the movies, it isn't all about love and life. The more time you spend in High School the more overworked, overlooked, underpayed, and stressed out you become.
I am currently a senior in High School, my final year, and I could not be more excited to move on to college. This is by far my most challenging year in every aspect of my life. Currently I am taking four AP and dual enrolled courses through my school, as well as three other regular courses. One of which I have an intership through at a local gym where I have to spend a certain amount of hours shadowing personal trainers. I am also getting my Certified Personal Training License through this class furthermore I am getting my license two months ahead of my classmates. I am also currently enrolled in three online classes through my college for my spring semester in school in order to obtain my Associate Degree in conjunction with my High School diploma. Thats not where it ends. I also work twenty to thirty hours weekly as a kitchen worker at Texas Roadhouse.
To sum up I am completely aware that everything I have affecting my life currently is because of my own decisions and actions. However, as much as this will help me in the future, this is the hardest challenge I have ever had to face. Mostly because I know that i'm missing out on my high school memories, seeing as I haven't been to a single football game. Yet, I wouldn't change the decisions that I have made or the actions I have taken as they are what will set the rest of my life up for sucess. I might be overlooked, stressed out, and underpayed, yet I am more proud of myself than anything. My work ethic shows exactly what kind of person I am and what kind of person I will be in the future, and I think my future is looking extremely bright.
