One of my goals in life is to go to college and get a Bachelor’s degree in teaching. I plan to major in Elementary Education and pursue a career as an Elementary Teacher. I would like to attend college to further my education, continue learning, and gain further knowledge, which will help me become an effective teacher. College will also prepare me for a career and help me become a better person and give back to the community the things I’ve learned. In high school, I took a child development class, where I learned how to teach and train young children. I enjoy working with small children and this class has inspired me to want to become an Elementary Teacher, so I can help children to learn and grow.
I have also had some outstanding teachers who have inspired me to want to become a teacher. One teacher, in particular, is my Honors English teacher, Ms. Larsen. I have been blessed to have Ms. Larsen as my English teacher and National Honor Society mentor for the past three years. She has been an influential teacher and mentor to me. Ms. Larsen has always pushed her students to be the best they can be. The expectations are high in her classroom, and as a result, learning is experienced at a higher level in her class. Ms. Larsen’s class has not always been my favorite, however, over the years I have come to appreciate the challenges she gives us, and I am grateful for the knowledge and skills I have gained and learned through her class. I know that she truly cares for her students and their education. Ms. Larsen has influenced me to be a more diligent student and dig deeper for knowledge. I am grateful for all she did to help me become who I am today. I hope that I can be an extraordinary teacher and good example to my students as well. I desire to make a difference in the lives of my students and help them to gain the skills and lessons they will need to be successful in life and reach their highest potential. I Would also like to help others in the community be the best that they can be and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, helping them realize that they too are smart, and can accomplish their goals when they set their minds to it.
