Sports management helps to become a Professional Football Player by LaDerrick - February 2019 Scholarship Essay
The life-long dream of becoming a professional athlete has come across the minds of nearly every kid at least once in their lives, regardless of whatever that sport may be (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Tennis, Soccer, etc.). In my particular situation, I’ve always had a fascination with American Football. The sight of the green field, the smell of the warm turf, the sound of the 20,000+ rowdy fans roaring in unison, made my hair stand on end. It was my heaven on earth. From an early age, I understood that school and grades were going to play a huge factor in the way my life turned out. I knew that choosing a good college and graduating with good grades would be the key to success. Although, there was one thing I didn’t have figured out just yet. I had no clue what I wanted to study once I got to college.
People told me that I had no reason to worry about college at such a young age, but I couldn’t help but worry about it. “If your doing something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”. Eventually, I decided to join the field of Sports Management. I know that having the knowledge of management will be a very help source in the future. Being able to manage money, time, relationships, and investments will be needed for the rest of my life.
