Success Is Persuasion by Kufre - December 2017 Scholarship Essay
Success in anything includes knowledge. I must know what I am talking about for me to validate my own understanding. In a school project, the audience has to be taught and the teacher needs to be convinced that the student learned enough material to teach. If neither are moved by the work, then the project was not a success. For me to be able to be successful in a school project, I must be creative, entertaining, and knowledgeable.
Before I create my presentation, I study every detail of my topic. I remember that questions will arise from my audience and how I must be confident in answering them. Even if the questions do not have answers to them, I acknowledge that I have searched a multitude of sources and reply that the solution has not been discovered. This knowledge allows me to be fluent in my speech. A person that is well-rounded in their studies will be confident in interpretations. However, without the audience's attention, I cannot present my school project.
Hence here is where creativity comes into play. I incorporate creativity into my project by including a design that is unique, yet still professional. The addition of three-dimensional figures or pops of color will captivate the audience's eye and help me introduce my topic. When the end of my presentation comes, I guarantee the public attained my information. I generate a game (a riddle or jeopardy style game) to test their understanding and provide them with treats for their win. In the end, the audience is taught, the grader is convinced, and my school project is a success.
