Going to a new country is always exciting, but the ability to go there to study is even more amazing. The language, the culture, and the experience all come to mind when thinking of the positives of studying abroad. Yet, combine with these are the lifelong friends you make, the photographs you take, and the new way of learning you get to experience. All of these things will majorly help your college education once you come back if you come back.

Studying abroad gives the opportunity of being submerged into a new culture. This new culture will allow you to expand your thoughts on how to react to certain situations as well as the more you’ll be able to connect with people. These things majorly help in the College classroom as you will understand people better and how they are trying to explain things since every professor is different. The new language you learned would also help as well, you may even be able to help someone who is not as fluent in the English language as you are. You will get to experience new music and food which, if taking a food or music class, you can incorporate into your study work and project.

The friends you make in other countries have been through the same experience you have and understand you. These friends won’t leave and you’ll have them your whole life, they will be able to help you if any problem arises. This will give you many perspectives from many different cultures and places allowing you to get the best possible outcome. Not to mention all of the fun you will have with them. Adding them on social media will help you to keep in contact with them. If they are a good influence and they go out to help the community, it will help you to push yourself to go out and help your own community. If they’re not a good influence, it helps to know what you should not do and what not to get involved in. Posting a question on your own social media will also allow you to receive many different responses to allow you to pick the best one. This is especially helpful when choosing essay topics or research papers.

Learning in a different country helps to introduce you to new study habits. Every person has a different way of studying or learning and going to another country will help to show different types. In America, we mainly use flash cards, but in other places, they mainly use study books and packets. Who knows, you may even discover a better way of studying for yourself. This will help you as you go on in your college career since studying is such a vital part of college. Without studying it is very hard to pass classes or receive at least a good grade, and grades are important!

Overall, studying abroad will help, in many aspects in, your college life and even your life outside of college. Giving you the experience of new cultures and languages, new friends who last a lifetime, and new habits which may be better than the ones you had previously. All of these things come together to enhance your time at college.
