Describe one advance in technology that you believe will be an integral part of education in the year 2038. by Kris - February 2018 Scholarship Essay

With our current status of education and all the improvements that we have as of late, it is hard to imagine it getting any better. Our society is always looking for advancements because of all the great businesses and innovations that run in this world allowing for room for improvement. By the year 2038, the most effective advancement in terms of education will be the virtual classroom due to the increase in job opportunities, quality of education, access to resources, and economic growth.
To begin with, the virtual classroom will be diminishing the need for students and teachers to meet up physically in an ordinary school-building. With technological enhancements, more and more demand will be laid upon IT workers, developers, and engineers which are all blue-collar jobs. This will mean that the new workforce will have an incentive to go after these jobs and pursue a career to help maintain the education system in good hands because the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Although increasing the number of job opportunities is an integral part of the new change in education, there are several other factors that play a major role.
With a virtual classroom, students will be able to learn the same material on the go and be able to ask any questions that they have to the instructor at any time. This is primarily because there are several students that don't ask questions due to shyness or anything crucial factor, thus hindering the amount of education he or she attains. However, shifting to a virtual state will allow for the teacher to explain everything in-depth while giving all the students to ask intelligent questions to continue learning. Today, we can see that the quality of education is not where it needs to be in several places all over the world. By bringing in the virtual classroom, the quality of education will improve greatly due to no problems such as language barriers, fear of asking questions, and also instructors being ready to help at all times.
Next, access to resources has been a conflict to many people while studying in school. Not having the right textbook, facing large charges to obtain the documents, and above all, not being able to contact the instructor when the student needs him or her has reduced our potential severely. With a virtual classroom, all textbooks, PDF's, and the option to contact the instructor are buttons away from the student's finger. It is sad to realize how much we have lost in potential growth due to not being able to access the required material in order to learn as much knowledge and excel in the classroom. But now that we can "go to school" while not being in school will give us the opportunity to achieve any goal that we pursue.
Lastly, the next part of technological advancement that will be intrinsic to education will be an effect which is economic growth. Due to the previously stated reasons why the virtual classroom will be great for education, economic growth will be a repercussion for the good. This is because of the new workforce that will be more educated and of higher quality in terms of their respected field of study.
In conclusion, the most fundamental part of education by the year 2038 will be the virtual classroom due to several reasons stated herein. It is a little hard to see how much more advanced we can be but there is no ceiling in this world and there is always room for improvement. This change will shape up the new generation for decades to come.
