Leadership means being a team player and being wise. Leadership is more than just pointing a finger and bossing people around. To be in leadership I believe you must respect others no matter what and be able to help the team in any way possible. Leadership is accepting when you are wrong or made a mistake and learning from those issues. Leadership is being a part of the team not just the person who points a finger down at others.
Someone who has demonstrated leadership to me would be my many coworkers. I work with others who are in similar positions as myself being a shift supervisor. I have learned what has worked for them and what has not. I also learned to listen to my team and find out who they are as people rather than just another ‘worker ant’. When you listen to people and try to understand they are a lot more receptive to information and issues. Those employees and co-workers will be more willing to work with you rather than work against you. When everyone works towards a common goal together, that is good leadership.
Good leadership is learned from various resources. Whether it be from a class you take to get more insight or first-hand experience from others around you. Leadership is something that will be continuous learning and adaptation. Whether you adapt to your surroundings or certain events like COVID-19. Leadership to me is leading those into success and being a team player.
