Leadership, the Most Important Talent by Komal - March 2015 Scholarship Essay
Leadership makes a difference in any field. To be a strong leader you need motivation, organization, and most importantly confidence. These skills not only shine when it comes to college, but it makes life after college so much better.
I personally grew up around the world of small business. I watched my father go from a quiet and passive man, to a vocal and strong leader. Without a leader you have no organization. Everyone will be off doing their own thing, and no one unites. In many careers you need to work as a team. It's like a well-oiled machine.
I feel that leadership skills are necessary for college success. And I feel that college is the best place to sharpen those skills. I am a returning student, I've already seen the world for what it's worth. I have seen several small and large businesses fail. Why all these failures? The several different college graduates that would run these businesses lacked the leadership skills that they could have worked on in college.
There’s so many opportunities in college for leadership skills that its unreal. Student government is one of the major ones for leadership. There you can really improve on charisma and confidence. Even clubs have leadership opportunities.
Without leadership the world would feel quite unfinished. For ants, without their line leader they would have no line. For us, without a strong voice to follow we would have nothing.
