Everyone knows that college opens many doors to success, but how does a degree even do that? First off, education is key to gaining access to certain high-paying jobs people want in life, and so they work hard to show they are qualified for the career. By qualified, it usually means that people who earned their degrees are likely hard-working, and are able to show how skilled they are in that field. For example, not only do job employers look for those who are college-educated, but more for individuals who have a higher-level degree than the rest of the candidates. What do I mean by an upper-level degree?
It is generally for college students who are aiming for a Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree, since they are probably more educated than those who get either an Associate’s or a Master’s Degree because both require less work to complete. Not to mention, college students who wish to earn a Bachelor’s need a total of four years, rather than for an Associate’s which is around two years. Additionally, those who work for a Bachelor’s or Doctorate, are doing so to find a job that pays them big money, so of course employers would pay more attention to them than your usual college-educated average Joe. Now, for those who are wondering, “What would happen if I don’t get a college degree?”
Well, for people who didn’t pursue a college education, employers would be less likely to look their way, due to most if not all jobs needing at least a degree to showcase how capable that individual is. Moreover, if a person hasn’t spent any time or effort pursuing a degree, it would be a bad match-up compared to another who dedicated themselves to finishing their college education. Due to the higher difficulty of finding a good career, Non-college men and women usually find themselves in lower-pay jobs than those who have finished college. Living life with no college degree can be very punishing, especially for those who have families to feed, bills to pay off, and the few who struggle to make ends meet.
Now more than ever, has the world today shown how important it is to get a college degree, mainly because of the ever-increasing rent costs, food prices, gas payments, and much more. To survive, I believe that higher-education learning is the golden key to great success in the long-run, because that could be the difference between surviving life and living life.
