My Gap Year by kimberly - August 2019 Scholarship Essay

If I were to take a gap year, I would make the most of it by figuring out for sure what I wanted to do with my career. I would visit places that had to do with what I was interested in. For instance, If I wanted to be a Vet then I would start looking into what kind of vet I wanted to be by going to different places such as a small animal hospital or talking to a vet at a zoo.
After I figured out exactly what I wanted to do I would then look for colleges that have the area of study I was looking for. I would then narrow down that list based upon my preferences. Some of the preferences that I can think of would be information such as, how far from home they are (do I want to go away or stay at home and commute), online or on campus, and the expense. After narrowing down some I would then narrow it down to my top five colleges.
At that point with my top five colleges in mind I would apply to all five of them. Once I was accepted, I would then apply for scholarships. After getting the finical statements from all the colleges that I was accepted to I would then started getting things together to go to my top school.
