Skills for Success by Kimberly - September 2014 Scholarship Essay

The skill that I believe is the most important for success in college is the ability to study. Every person has a different approach to the way they study. Some people study by reputition, making up songs, rhymes, booklets, take notes or make flashcards. Making flashcards is my method of choice for studying. I also make color coded notes. I use colored pencils and crayons. One thing I have realized is that the longer I am in school the more I have to study. That's because the work gets more challenging. If I do not study then I will not make good grades on my test. If you do not study or put in the hard work and effort it takes to pass the class then you will fail. That is the most important thing about going to college. If you do not pass your classes then you will not be able to obtain the degree that you enrolled in college to achieve.

In conclusion, I believe that studying is the most important skill needed for success in college. We all have different ways to study. Everyone just needs to find which way works best for them to be able to succeed.
