Attending College is important, if you have the desire. Without the desire the importance of college is taken away. This is why if I would have been asked this question a year ago my answer would have been no. I did not feel like college was necessary. I feared the debt and the commitment. I have always been a passionate person that wanted to help others. I believed that drive and the experience I was gaining in the world could push me into any career I set my mind to.
Though my drive and experience has allowed me to further my career more than expected without a degree, I still feel like I'm missing something. I have the desire to learn more. This is why I believe college is important. No one can take your education from you. No one can take away your want to learn. I believe college is extremely important if your desire to learn is there.
In conclusion, college is not important for the piece of paper, the image, or the experience. It is simplily important because we have the right to learn. We deserve to give ourselves the opportunity to fully experience life by using all the tools we are given.
