Choose one word to describe why you wish to attend college, and explain why you chose that word. by KIBSA - January 2018 Scholarship Essay

I am attending college because I want to succeed in life. In fact, getting an education and especially having a college degree gives you more chance to be successful in life compared to someone who does not have a college degree. Nowadays, the world is competitive, and if a person does not have a college education it is complicated for that person to find a good job and to be successful because all the good jobs that procure benefits usually require a college degree. Therefore, that's why I am working hard every single day at college to earn my degree, because I strongly believe that this degree will provide me more chance to be successful in life.
In addition, I chose the word successful to describe the reason I am going to college because I come from a family, where the highest degree that my brothers and sisters have earned were a high school diploma. Unfortunately, it is complicated right now for my relatives to find a good job and to be successful. My sisters work as cashiers and paid at the minimum wage and my brothers work in restaurants and also paid at the minimum wage. Being the youngest brother in our family,I cannot afford to do the same mistakes than my elders otherwise i will regret my all life. That's the main reason I chose the word success to explain the reason I am attending college because I am telling to myself that if my brothers and sisters were more educated they will find good jobs that pay well than the jobs they are doing right now.
At spring 2018, I will earn my first college degree, which is an associate degree in Dietetics and Nutrition. So far, I have 46 college credits with a GPA of 3.439. I was in the Dean's list at fall 2016, and the same year I was introduced in Phi Theta Kappa Society. After my associate degree, I plan to pursue a bachelor degree in different college. Finally, I am finishing this essay by saying thank you to you by giving me a chance to express my thoughts and to say why I desire a college degree and the reason behind this noble desire.
