If I could have dinner with one of the United States President, it would be Barack Obama. I would have dinner with President Obama because he made new medical advances, improved food safety systems, expanded hate crime protections, and provided payment to wronged minority farmers.
I would have dinner with Obama because he made so many changes to the world in a good way. One change he made was improving medical advances. He formed the Obama care which was a federal law providing for a fundamental reform of the U.S. healthcare and health insurance system. He also increased the support of our fellow veterans with providing them with the medical care or assistance that they currently need. Lastly, he expanded health coverage for children which allows the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to cover health care for four million children and more that is paid for by a tax increase on tobacco products.
Another change Obama made was when he improved food safety systems. By doing this, it would boost the Food and Drug Administration’s budget by 1.4 billion dollars and expands the responsibility to increase the number of food inspections, issuing food recalls, and review the food safety practices between countries. This was a great contribute because restaurants and other places that sold food would be up-to-date with the new systems, provide good food, and will keep all of the consumers or customers healthy.
Obama has also made a change in expanding hate crime protections. Hate crimes are increasing in the United States over the years, so President Obama wanted to stop the numbers from rising. He did this by expanding existing hate crime protections to include crimes based on a victim’s sexual orientation, gender, disability, race, color, religion, or national origin. With this law being passed, no one should be allowed to mistreat another person because of their appearance or belief’s they may have. After making this law, Obama has protected a great hand full of people who was being unfairly treated.
Lastly, Obama has changed the payment of wronged minority farmers. This provided 4.6 billion dollars in funding for a legal settlement with African American and Native American farmers who the government cheated out of loans and natural resource royalties in years past.
In conclusion, I would have dinner with President Obama because he has made many changes for the world to be a better place.
