Life and the existence of matter has always interested me since I was a kid. The millions of cells that are in our bodies and the how we are created sparks an inside passion that I have for science. Biology is defined as the study of living organisms, divided into many specialized fields that cover their morphology, physiology, anatomy, behavior, origin, and distribution. To me, biology is defined as the study of science that deals with the recurring nature of life and how everything around us exists. This outlook seems to be more interesting to more students. Along with this, biology is one of the most applicable subjects that can be taught to students easily.
I have personally tutored many students in this subject. Many of those students either hate or have no passion for science. Within half and hour, I can make the student change perspectives by having fun while teaching and easily explain concepts. Science seems to have its own flow of information that is much different than other subjects such as mathematics or English. Concepts are taught not in a structure form like in mathematics or English but rather as a broad concept that becomes narrow the more specific the topic becomes.
Biology compared to other science subjects is in a league of its own. Chemistry and Physics forces many students into ideas and concepts that are harder to imagine, and these subjects are very hard to physically show and furthermore explain. Many of Biology’s concepts can be shown physically to allow students to understand basic concepts which can be used to comprehend complex ideas. Biology is also the study of life which allows all of the information to connect together and make sense. By being able to connect information from one end to the other end, students are able to grasp the concept of how everything works together such as the nervous system in our bodies. Biology is one of the most comprehensible subjects that can be taught easily and with a lot of passion.
