While watching these environmental documentaries like Leonardo DiCaprio’s, “Before the Flood”, or “Racing Extinction”, one will want to learn more and take this course.Watching these had made me intrigued and I wanted to learn more beyond, what the documentaries had taught me. My teacher
would also talk about how coral reefs are dying because our oceans are too acidic. Then came the day where the teachers came in class and talked about the course, and I knew AP Environmental Science was the perfect class for me to choose for my senior year!

I truly enjoyed AP Environmental Science, because it prepared me for what a college class curriculum would be like. I would definitely recommend for any student to take this class, because this is what really is going on in the world. I learned that what we do, consume, etc. affects the future of the world. The more people who learn about environmental science and actually care about this world, could help change the world for the better. In this class we learned how to identify plants and trees, track animal footprints in the snow, learn how to plant plants properly, all about a prairie restoration, creating new habitats for monarch butterflies, studying the prairie ecosystem,etc. Watching the prairie burn was something that was one of my favorite activities in the AP Environmental Science course, because that’s something that not everyone has the chance to see. Before this class I had no idea that a prairie had to be burned in order to grow for the next season. If I hadn’t taken this class then I would’ve thought that they were killing the prairie. This class gives students the opportunities that they may have never had. We interacted with nature, and that was pretty cool! My favorite unit had to be the land management and water scarcity and pollution, because I had had some knowledge about these topics. This class is a class that everyone can enjoy! I not gonna lie I was nervous in the beginning of the school year, taking this class because some seniors before said that this class was a little hard, but as long as you do your work, are respectful, and actually want to learn about the earth’ nature, then any student would enjoy this class. I really wasn’t that much of a nature person before, but after this class, I became more used to it. AP Environmental Science is one of my favorite classes that I’ve taken in high school! In college even though i’m majoring in pre-med, I do think I would take more classes on environmental science, because I really enjoyed this class. Besides Anatomy & Physiology, AP Environmental Science is one of the really important classes, because it’s what really matters/ what’s going on in the world. This class really matters; it’s good to educate the future generation on environmental issues, because we are the future of the world. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I had during this class, all the labs, projects, etc.
