It All Pays Off by Kharizma - June 2014 Scholarship Essay
Books are valuable sources of information and sometimes can be entertaining. Reading is quite fundamental however, let us be real not many people read books anymore. Many young adults use technology to gain information or to be entertained. If I were to write a book I would make it short, encouraging and aimed for young adults. The title of the book would be “It All Pays Off.” Although books are becoming items of the past my book would encourage young adults to read and persevere through life.
The contents of “It All Pays Off” would encourage young adults to continue to on their journey to becoming successful. The novel would be aimed at those trying to finish college or overcome an obstacle in life. The book would not only be for young adults but people of all ages. As I entered my freshman year of college I was enthusiastic and somewhat apprehensive. The first semester I did great however, I failed one class, which brought my grade point average down. The second semester I had to drop a course because of the difficulty. Due to me dropping the course I fell below the required credits for a freshman. I began to feel discouraged and think school was not for me. For that reason I would write a book encouraging those that all the hard work will pay off in the end.
“It All Pays Off” would be about different people, of all ages, and their obstacles they are trying to overcome. Instead of an author just relaying a story to the reader, there would be actual testimonies of individuals’ tribulations. The paperback will not be too extensive to keep the reader’s attention. It would make the reader laugh, cry and smile. No matter the age everybody needs encouragement. When one is going through tough times a positive outcome may seem far-fetched. If I could write a book I would write a book encouraging those to press on when times get rough. All the hard work put fourth will pay off in the end.
