The Meaning of Education by kenzie - October 2022 Scholarship Essay

When starting high school, I think I believed school was boring and didn't provide enough excitement and activities for me. Soon I realized the importance of an education. I think I took it for granted as I have always had it fairly easy in school. I didn't have to give as much effort as others until my Freshman year. Things changed. I had to work harder to maintain my level of grades. I struggled with outside influences and made some poor decisions and just didn't give it all I had. I realized midway through my Sophomore year that I wanted to pursue a college degree after high school and really had to refocus to get my GPA up. If I could do it all over again, I would love to redo my Freshman year. It is a lot harder to get your GPA back up than it would have been to keep it up.

The ability to learn new things and become an expert in a particular field excites me. I cannot wait to begin my college journey and really apply what I learn along the way in life. My goal is to pursue medicine so I am in the education world for the long haul. I want to get my undergraduate degree in Biology and then move on to Medical School and specialize in Radiology. I have a great deal to learn and a scholarship would assist me in the pursuit of my dreams.
