Choosing My Major by Kenneth - February 2024 Scholarship Essay
Hi, my name is Kenneth Causey, a high school senior who’s devoted to my academic pursuit. With a current 3.6 GPA I have always been top of the class throughout my high school journey. I stay striving to ensure that my grades, which I take THE most pride in, reflect not just my dedication, but also my consistency of challenging myself to be better. This diligence is also evident in my aspirations to progress further in my educational path.
My current academic interests involve a curious blend of the business, film, and a dabble of healthcare. I’m all over the place I know right, but I’m fascinated by the principles that govern our world, and equally intrigued on how society operates. I believe that an understanding of both equips me to contribute positively to society.
As an African-American man, who understands the challenges my people face, I am committed to beating the odds burdened on me with my education as my primary tool in accomplishing that goal. Earning this scholarship will significantly contribute towards my educational and social journey, aiding me in achieving my ambitions of attending the college and career I’m aiming for.
In addition to my academic commitment, I have endeavored to be an active participant in my community. My actions aim to restore life back into it. I understand that my success is not just for me, but for my community, for it was hard growing up in a poor and impoverished area with little resources to prosper. I strive to be that spark and bring life and enjoyment into my community whilst inspire upcoming generations to seek out and seize opportunities for themselves.
I am a strong believer in that saying, "the journey of a thousand miles starts begins with a single step," and with your support with the scholarship gives me a few steps and a hope to further my access to opportunities and successes in my life.
With that, thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Causey
