"We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses." -Abraham Lincoln. The world is how we decide to see it. Most people can only focus on the negatives of any condition. These pessimists can only see the poor events and choices that other people make. Thinking this way will only create more negatives to add onto the many that this world already has.
If the world would think more positively, there would be more to feel blessed for. Sometimes it can be hard to see how something so unacceptable could have anything good to come out of it. Normality should not be to focus on the cynical aspects of people. When people choose to appreciate the little and bigger things in life, the mindset of many could be changed for the better. Kids hear about awful situations in the news, at home, or at school. When a kid overhears about pessimistic things, they may perceive it as normal. Now, imagine if the youth of this society had known about the brighter side of things instead of only the dark side. That could carry on throughout the older years of their lives and maybe even continue the positivity through their own children. The possibilities of making a better society could be accelerated with this simple way of thinking.
For people to think in a way that is more optimistic can really improve society. The population of this day and age could really use the greater aspects of life. It would be a huge difference not only for the adults of today, but also the youth that will take over the world once the older ones are gone. Everyone knows we need a better way of thinking with how pessimistic the world has been these past decades.
