Mrs. Stacy Crowley by Kelsey - October 2019 Scholarship Essay

Growing up in a small town is often difficult. We don’t have many students, and we have few teachers, some of them having to teach multiple different classes per day. With few students and few teachers, we often don’t have classes we sometimes wish we do. Luckily, my school is blessed with one of the most influential and positive teachers I have been lucky enough to have as a mentor.
Mrs. Stacy Crowley is a computer class teacher, teaching concepts of excel, word, and typing. Not only does she teach students about computers and their perks, she also prepares kids for the real world. Helping us learn how to write checks, and even preparing us for job interviews. Mrs. Crowley sets up yearly mock interviews for her students. I myself found this very beneficial, and used her tips when I was writing my resume and applying for jobs.
Throughout the years, Mrs. Crowley has helped the school in many ways, and the students. She is a very busy teacher and yet she found time to take initiative and be the leader of our new DECA group.
Mrs. Cowley has two kids. One, her son, is close to my brothers age. Growing up, I always saw her at sporting events and even when I wasn’t a student of hers, I was attached to her. Her daughter is close to my age. So again, she was active in my life.
She is one of the most caring, inspirational, and devoted people and teachers I know. She inspires not only me, but other students as well. She keeps her class fun, and yet she still knows how to keep it professional. She raised her kids to be the same way, and I hope one day I can be just like her.
So, to answer the question, Mrs. Stacy Crowley was one of my biggest influencers and encouragers throughout my high school career.
