What Does Education Mean to Me? by keirstyn - October 2022 Scholarship Essay

Keirstyn Francis
What Does Education Mean to Me?

For me education means that I am able to work a job that not just anyone can. Education allows a person to achieve work that is special to them and their job. Education means that I can provide well thought out answers to a question that most people wouldn’t know how to answer. Education makes a career special and unique; it is the concept of success. It creates critical thinking and problem solving. Education shows drive and study skills and that I am determined and sophisticated. It shows high hopes and success for life.

When education is applied to everyday life, we are able to learn things that we never even thought of, and it creates an open mind and an opportunity for success. We are eligible for so many different high-end jobs that exercise the mind and motivation. We can learn a lot more than we initially thought when we make education a priority.

Education is something that can’t be unlearned, and it can be carried with you for the rest of your life. There are so many different subjects that can be applied and learned. In Grace Gaywood’s Article “What Does Education Mean to You,” she asks a number of professors and people of power what education means to them; Nada Abi, a three-year BSc managements science student states that “Education, while being enjoyable, helps us broaden our horizons by equipping us with the knowledge necessary to better understand our surroundings as well as succeed in today’s world.” I think that this quote perfectly explains my interpretation of the meaning of education.
