Keep Pushing! by Kayrie - July 2025 Scholarship Essay

The one piece of advice that I would give my past self would be reassuring her that it will soon be over. Since my last year of middle school through sophomore year I was stuck in a toxic friendship and it was just too nice to stop being friends with her but she made my life miserable and almost went into a depression state. I would give her a big hug knowing that's all I need back then to let myself break. I would tell her to keep head up and dont let the friend continue to push me around since you will soon realize and put an end to it all. Nonetheless, I would tell my younger self to worry less about the toxic friend but instead pay more attention to my other friends since they are the ones that will always end up sticking around and will care for me. If younger me would've heard those words it would've changed my mindset and action since it took me some time figuring it out myself but a little help and support would've done wonders in this situation and saved myself from having my freshmen and sophomore year of high school ruined.
