School Changes by Kaylee - September 2023 Scholarship Essay

If I had the power to improve my school, I would focus my attention on a few crucial areas to improve the overall educational experience for kids. These adjustments would work to improve the learning environment by making it more diverse, creative, and encouraging.

My main goal would be to promote an inclusive environment. This entails actively promoting diversity as well as celebrating it. I would put programs and activities, such as cultural awareness workshops, diversity and inclusion clubs, and mentoring programs, into place to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. With these initiatives, students from all backgrounds will experience a more welcoming and courteous environment, which will help them feel valued and included.

Additionally, given the significant impacts they have on students' academic performance, emotional wellbeing, behavior, and long-term outcomes, mental health and wellbeing would be given top priority. In schools, mental health is very important. Fostering a supportive and emotionally healthy learning environment is beneficial for the entire school community as well as society at large.

In conclusion, if I had the power to enhance my school, I would give special attention to the use of technology, diversity and inclusion, mental health assistance, creative teaching techniques, and infrastructural upgrades. All students would benefit from a more complete and enriching educational experience thanks to these improvements, which would better position them for success in a constantly shifting environment.
