My Favorite Teacher by Kaylee - June 2019 Scholarship Essay

During my four years of high school I have met tons of influential and amazing teachers. I would love to give all my teachers credit and tell them how much I appreciate everything they did for me. I would also like to recognize my mom since she is a second-grade teacher as well. Teachers deserve so much more than they receive. Teachers shape our childhood and our future. Aside from your parents they teach you the fundamentals to life and prepare you for your future. In particular though this one special teacher made my senior year even more spectacular than it already was. I am in an Academy of Finance program at my school and this teacher was new to our school my freshman year. This teacher was one of my Finance teachers throughout my four years. This specific teacher was known as the fun teacher but still got done what he had to get done. I had a pretty good connection with this teacher and got along with him very well. Our principal decided to move him up to teach seniors this year, which everyone was excited about. We get to start high school with him and end high school with him. To add on, this teacher did everything he could for us, he made sure our days were going well and he made sure we understood the concepts he was teaching. Aside from how good of a teacher he was, he was an amazing and inspirational person. All of the seniors looked up to him, including myself. The one lesson that he taught me that impacted my education and personal decisions was when he would talk about his own personal dilemmas and how he handled them. This teacher helped us with any questions we had and was such a good role model. I learned how to save my money wisely, how to buy a house/car, how to get a credit card, and how to prepare for college. These are important steps in your life you need to know about before making a final decision. When this teacher expressed his own personal views on specific things, it helped us to see the real world and what to expect. I have learned so much from this teacher from finance situations and life lessons that are important. My classmates and I were so lucky to of had a teacher like this that helped us with anything we are facing. I can truly say I was changed by the advice and help he always gave us. I will always remember this teacher and strive to have the attitude and passion he has daily. This teacher impacted my education deeply and how to handle certain situations when you are faced with them. We should all be more grateful for all the tiny or big lessons any of our teachers taught us growing up. In this world, we are fortunate to have such great people to teach us certain topics to get us to where we are today.
