Uncovering the truth that's right in front of us by Kaylee - August 2017 Scholarship Essay
For the vast majority of my life I was convinced that I was going to go into engineering. That all changed after I took AP psychology my junior year of high school and realized that what I was most fascinated by was the brain. I am now entering college with the intentions of majoring in a neuroscience related field. Eventually I see myself being a professor of neurobiology. I think that this class would be most valuable to teach because I cannot see myself in a room of four hundred students, but instead I would much rather have a smaller class size where I could do more hands-on teaching. Also, I would love to be a professor of neurobiology because of the multitude of research that I would get to do both in and out of the classroom.
Mankind has always looked to the stars and wondered what was out there and I think we often forget that there are so many things here in front of us that we have limited knowledge on such as the ocean or our brains. I hope that in my lifetime I can help to uncover the many secrets to the brain through researching and teaching others.
