Changing the World, One Person at a Time by Kayla - August 2018 Scholarship Essay
Let me think here for a moment. My educational podcast would have to be definitely centered around one of my favorite classes ever, psychology. This podcast would be able to teach so many kids and adults about themselves. Because that is my aim in life, to help others. I want to grow up to be a type of counselor that does make a difference in every kid's world. So yeah, my podcast would revolve around psychology, but would be able to connect with the people. I want to be able to help out whatever is going in inside of their mind.
Psychology is a GIANT topic. Every week would be about a specific topic. I guess I would have it organized by the days. The first few days, starting Monday, would be the general knowledge of the topic. Then for the rest of the week, each day would be about a specific part of the topic. Each specific part would include the general knowledge of it, along with results research uncovered, tips on how to work it into your life, and how it affects you overall. The last day, Sunday, would be all about the people. That would have to be a live podcast. I would want these people to ask questions, share stories, talk about how that topic has/will/might change them. Of course, this would all be anonymous. But the people wouldn't have to wait until Sunday, a website will go along with this where people can share/post questions or situations that can't wait another day to be heard. I want them to know that I will listen to them and give them the best advice that I can offer, always.
This podcast won't just be an educational audio with facts that you won't remember any of the next day. It will be the comforting friend for when no one else is there, the ear that will listen to your rants about your bad day or about something that happened, the family that shows there are others who are like you, the reminder that you do matter. This will be podcast that will change the world, but most importantly, people's lives.
