On Your Way to Get an A by Kayla - December 2017 Scholarship Essay

Whether you are working alone, with a partner, or with a group on a project, you always need to have a game plan and a strategy. My strategy includes three things, planning, organization, and time management. Planning involves setting up how you are going to accomplish the project, what tools and resources you’ll need, and if you’re in a group, how you will split the jobs up. Organization keeps the project less overwhelming, stressful, and messy. Time management gives you enough time to complete research or a task. If you wait until the last minute, your project will be sloppy, unorganized, and not as detailed. Every part of a project and your grade is important and is affected by your strategy.
Planning your project can be as hard as you make it. This sets up how the entire project it going to go. If you don’t plan well, your project can fall apart, and you’ll have to start from the bottom again. If you plan well, your project will go smooth; you will be less stressed as well. Being stressed during a project causes you to not put in your best effort which can affect your score and your grade.
Organization will also help your project run smoothly and decrease the stress on you. Organizing your information and resources will make it easier for you and/or your group to accomplish work. Being organized also gives you flexibility within your project. People who are organized tend to be more productive, whether it’s at work, home, or school.
Time management is a considerable problem for countless people. The biggest advantage to managing your time, is spacing out the work. This way, you aren’t cramming to get everything done in one night. Many problems can arise the night before, and there won’t be enough time to fix everything. This can dramatically affect your score and grade, especially if you don’t get it finished.
Usually projects are worth a lot of your overall grade. This means you really need to work well on your project, be successful, and get a good grade. Using my strategy, planning ahead, being organized, and managing your time efficiently, you will be guaranteed success if you put in the effort.
