Things to Do before It's Over. by Kaycee - August 2022 Scholarship Essay

I started my senior year of High School two days ago and I have a couple of academic goals that I would like to accomplish before I move on to college.

The first goal I have for the year is to bring up my GPA from a 3.75 to as high as I can possibly can before I graduate. The college that I am applying to has an honors program where I would receive preferential housing and additional academic money if I can get my GPA to a 3.8 or above. I am so close! The dorms for the Honors Program are in the middle of campus, which would be nice getting to classes.

The second goal I have to get my SAT score up. I took the SAT for the first time the beginning of my Junior year and had not had an in-person Math class in almost two years. I did ok but I feel like I could definitely do better. I know because of Covid-19 they are not required at many colleges now, including the one that I have applied to but I am trying my best to get my life back to as normal as possible and I feel like taking the test would show the college that I am serious about my academics.
