Reaching My Potential through Physical, Spiritual, and Social Health by Katrina - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

I am really excited about my New Year's Resolutions that took me a lot of thought and pondering to be sure that I can be lead to accomplish this. I feel, I was able to narrow these resolutions down to simple, everyday tasks that I can accomplish which in turn reaches my potential, or my vision. Physical, Spiritual and Social Health are all aspects of life we can all improve on because I believe it will help us through the trials of life in being successful, not only as a student but in general.
I first would like to talk about my Physical health goals. With these goals, will not only help me to stay fit and look good, but will help me in feeling confident about myself and can help with any health issues and preventing health issues from occurring including but not limited to; depression, anxiety, diabetes, heart problems, etc. My goals for my Physical Fitness include: at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday, and at least 30 minutes of weight training; choosing healthier foods and options over unhealthy foods- a good, better, best situation; taking my daily vitamins and supplements; and drinking 64oz of water each day. These goals have a huge impact on my mind and body, and how I think and handle things throughout the day. A positive mind and attitude goes a long way!
Next, is my Spiritual Health. These goals helps me to strengthen myself spiritually which I believe will allow my Heavenly Father and his spirit to be with me and making good decisions, prioritizing my time, and taking the time and effort need to help me be more involved in my studies. My goals include: writing in my journal every night before I go to bed, read my scriptures and other personal study and writing down how I can apply it in my life and apply it, say my prayers morning and night with real intent, do 1 service for someone daily, attend gospel/bible study classes on a regular basis, and magnifying to the best of my ability, my calling in my church.
And last but not least, my Social environment. This helps to strengthen my communication skills that can really help me in classes, with friends and my future family. It's really important that we strengthen our social environment for the benefit of ourselves and for others, that we may receive the support we need during hard times and for others as well. My goals include: compliment 5 people each day (this can really help so that in due time, will become a habit and I will do it naturally, who doesn't want to be around someone who's always giving you compliments? It feels good and strengthens our self esteem), meet someone new each day (expanding my circle of friends), and further my education by going back to school so I can learn and gain the knowledge I need to help me through life and for the benefit of my future family.
With all these goals, it can help me to reach my potential and become the best person I can be to help me through life and so I can benefit myself and others. I'm always excited to work towards becoming a better person! These goals will help me to work hard, set my priorities in order, use my time wisely and I can use good, better and best in my daily decisions.
