Exercise is the Key to Success by Katherine - January 2016 Scholarship Essay
Like many people, my resolution is to become more active in 2016. Being active is extremely important for students because it is a healthy stress reliever. Since I am currently in college there are many stressful things I encounter. I think it would be helpful for my physical and mental wellbeing if after everyday or every other day after classes I went to the gym to relieve stress of quizzes, exams, and homework.
Another important reason to go to the gym is body image. Many college students face the issue of gaining weight. One reason may be because food is always available, however it is not always healthy. Maintaining a healthy figure is important for how we feel about ourselves. Weight gain and a poor body image can lead to feeling depressed, and a lack of confidence.
It is important to feel both confident and stress free as a student. People do not perform to their best ability when they are lacking confidence and carrying a high amount of stress. Going to the gym often will help me become a better student. By exercising I will be able to clear my head after a long day and also feel proud of myself for going.
