As long as I can remember I have wanted to become a doctor. However, I knew that my parents would not have enough money to send me to medical school. My mom once said do your best and God will do the rest. This I carried with me and decided to always do my best by maintaining a 4.0 and higher GPA all my life, assisting any way I could in volunteer efforts, doing my best in all extra curriculars, and even participating in all the clubs like HOSA, Internship at hospitals, and working while in high school. Now it is time to apply, and I am more scared than ever that I won’t obtain enough financial help to be able to go to college and reach my goal of becoming a doctor in Oncology.
My goal of becoming an Oncology doctor has always existed because I want to be a part of something bigger in my life than just graduating college or making money. I want to be a part of the healing culture that involves making a genuine difference in someone’s life. To me this would make my families sacrifices, my hard work, and this life as whole mean something g and I would leave this Earth one day knowing my life mattered because it helped to save another.
The gift of life is the greatest thing we possess, and I believe my goal of becoming a great doctor to those with Cancer; one who is skilled, knowledgeable, and full of empathy will allow me to honor that gift.
