A Dinner With Rosa Parks by Karissa - February 2016 Scholarship Essay
If I could have dinner with any historical figure, I have to say that I would choose Rosa Parks because she made such a huge difference in our history as well as the world we live in today. Rosa Parks was a woman of true bravery. She set an image for the people after her. She knew the difference between right and wrong and stood for what she believed in even when she stood alone.
Rosa Parks believed that people should be treated equally, no matter what race they were. After all, we don’t get to choose who our ancestors are or what race we want to be. She demonstrated true determination when she refused to give up her seat just because she was colored. If I had been in her shoes at that time in history, I would not have given up my seat either.
In conclusion to this essay, Rosa Parks was one of the bravest women I’ve ever learned about in the history of our world and it would be an honor if I was given the opportunity to have dinner with her. She made a difference in the lives of people and how we think now when it comes to equality.
