Encouraging the Student Body by Kamryn - November 2019 Scholarship Essay
I believed I have positively impacted my high school by being involved. I am involved in many activities throughout the school including student council, our school news, National Honor Society, color guard, and leadership team for the marching band and guard. I consider myself to have a positive outlook in life and I think that being so involved in school helps me spread it to others.
I always encourage people to join activities and get more involved in our student body. In everything I am involved in, I always try to offer help to anyone if they are struggling; whether it be trying to figure out how to do flag work in guard, how to do a problem in math class, or how to raise school spirit; I do everything I can to make the school a positive, inviting place. I think that offering help to others positively impacts my high school because it helps people improve and be more likely to succeed.
I constantly bring up all of the clubs I am passionate about into conversations to spread the word about them because I don’t want others to potentially miss out on an opportunity. This display of positive advertisement helps both the activity and the listener. The activity earns a good reputation and this positive word of mouth makes the activity seem appealing to more people. It also appeals to the listener because they are more likely to join a club if they know that people participating in the club actually enjoy themselves.
Aside from school related activities, I am also present at every home football and basketball game. I think it is important to support all school activities and I encourage others to do so. Support is crucial in a learning environment. Just like we are learning in the classroom, kids are learning on the fields, learning on the courts, etc. People learn better if they are surrounded by support and positivity. My goal is that as a school, we build each other up and encourage each other no matter what.
