A famous quote by Plato reads "The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life." This quote has a lot of truth to its message, it can be applied to the way we today use our education in school and how it can determine our future. Being at a young age now it is understood that students may have some academic challenges in school. Things such as keeping grades up, being involved in extracurricular activities and planning for the future. All these things are important things to consider as you get older and make plans to consider how you will succeed in the future. So, considering these things one thing to keep in mind would be the power of work ethic.
As we age we tend to take on more responsibility, also the people we are around put their trust in us. The reason for this is because they believe that we are mature and we can make mature decisions. So as we mature so does the difficulty of the classes and work we receive in school. Good work ethic is then needed, this involves students putting more work into their studies for school. A couple of ways of putting in hard work or showing good work ethic could include note taking strategies, studying in advance or making extra time with a teacher or tutor to truly understand the material. These are just a few ways of good work ethic. Buying out the extra time to help increase your chances of success in a class or your studies by doing more than the usual. One way to see if the hard work is paying off, is if there is a change in the students school work in a positive way. For example spending a couple nights out of the week to study for a test that is coming up. Preparing ahead of time gives the student a more likely chance to pass the test and to reap the benefits from doing the hard work in their studies.
The main goal in attending school is to be able to learn and expand our knowledge so it gives you a better chance at accomplishing the goals in the future like going to college or getting the dream job. To achieve such goals hard work is required and this starts with our efforts in school. Our work ethic can affect our future, that is why this piece of advice should be taken seriously. The hard work a student puts into their work will surely show the students priorities in life.
Moreover we can truly see how important it is for students to have a hard work ethic in school. As we mature our responsibility increases and so in turn our work ethic does also. When the student puts forth the effort towards their studies their chances of learning the material and succeeding at passing the test or class is greater. In order to achieve the goals we all seek to achieve there has to be good work ethic involved. Good work ethic in school is important in order to accomplish the goals we want in our future.
