The Importance of Education by Kaitlyn - April 2015 Scholarship Essay

I believe that the purpose of education is to create a future for you. Yes, you can create a future with nothing more than a high school diploma; you can even create a future without a diploma. But more often then not, it isn’t as happy of a future. Education can lead you in many different directions. In every job you attend in life you need an education of some sort. Whether it be writing, math, vocal, or any other numerous things you education provides you.

The more education you receive, the better chance of a happier future you will create for not only yourself, but others as well. If you plan on having a family later on in life, you’re going to want to not only be able to provide for yourself but for your family as well. No one wants to go through life struggling, especially if there is more than one person that you have to take care of. They may depend on you, and disappointing the people that depend on you can be a heartbreaking feeling. Your life almost depends on education in any department you choose to relate it to.

When it comes to shopping for necessities, you will want to know what a percentage on a sale price comes out to be, or the total with tax before buying these items so you know how much you can afford. You’re going to want to have reading skills, for when you have to pay your bills, or get a letter from your landlord so you can understand what the note concludes. You’re going to want to understand some forms of common sense science so you will understand household items when a problem occurs, such as food spoiling. What is the amount of time they are good for, and where should you store them, and why? All of these examples are examples in which you will need a form of education to understand. Education follows you everywhere in life and it is up to you to accomplish it. It is up to you to decide how much education you need to make yourself happy. But the more education the happier the future.
