#Power by Kaitlyn - April 2018 Scholarship Essay

To me, education and acquiring a multitude of information, is power. When you have the knowledge and skills to complete specific tasks at hand, you are powerful. You are able to complete the different tasks assigned to you. The ability to get a quality education is something that should be available to everyone. This is regardless of who you are and what you are going to pursue. The ability to learn, as well as teach others, is such a valuable skill in our day and age. Having an education gives us the ability to create and do wonderful things. Your education will never fail you.
Nowadays, a college degree is generally a basic requirement to get a job. To me, this is wonderful. It gives people a chance to deepen their knowledge in a given field that they love. And once they have that foundation of knowledge, they are able to use that knowledge to help others. That is their power. Using their education to help others in their community, and even around the world. Education allows people to prosper, when they otherwise would not. Education gives people the means to become successful, hardworking, and determined. It provides discipline, as well as knowledge, to form a well-rounded being full of power. The power to do anything they desire. The power to make a difference in such an unpredictable, sometimes worrying, world. The power to take on any difficult task thrown at them. All because they have the knowledge from the education that they deserved. Thus, to me, education is #power.
