My Dream by Kaitlin - December 2015 Scholarship Essay
In around ten years, I will have a steady job and hopefully a family. The only way I will achieve my job goal is to to work hard for the next four years in college. Having a college education is my exact goal.
My dream is to become an accountant. I have excelled at math my entire life, so it only makes sense to pursue a career with a mathematics background. I feel that I can excel as an accountant because of my advanced mathematics background. Although I already have a partial mathematics education, I will need to take additional math courses in college. I also will be forced to take business, economics, and accounting classes to advance in my education and career.
In order to excel as an accountant, I will have to be an attentive and hard-working person. An accountant does the same thing every day. They must be willing to look at a person’s finances and communicate with that same person. I will be confident in my ability to do so after I take a communications course at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
In 2025, I hope to have a small family with a nice house in the suburbs. Once I graduate from college, I would love to move to a surrounding town of Dallas, Texas. Hopefully, my children will go to a private school and receive a good education because I want the best for my future children.
There are a lot of obstacles in the way of my future, but I am determined to become a successful as an accountant. I hope to have my own private practice someday. I know this will be hard, but I will not give up.
