"Careers" by Kaitlin - January 2018 Scholarship Essay

The one word that describes why I want to go to college is ¨Careers.¨ There are many types of careers to choose from. Within these many careers there are some that most college students have never heard of before. There are medical careers, government, business, and many other career choices, that are in the field you want to study. Personally, I believe going to college will allow me to learn about the different career choices and, hopefully, will help me find the right career for me.
Many people go to college not knowing what they want to do, but some go into college knowing exactly what they want to do as a lifetime career. For me, I want to do something in the medical field, but I´m not quite sure what I want to do. I was thinking nursing, but I don´t know if that´s the right fit for me. So I decided I was going to go to college for my RN, but during college I´m hoping that I will find my true passion for life. Many people change their career choice during college, due to college expanding your knowledge of different types of careers.
I picked the word ¨Careers¨ because college is about finding the right career that you enjoy and have a passion for. As a high school senior you may already know what you want to do, but most likely college will make you change your mind, causing you to switch to a different career. This is why I chose the word ¨Careers.¨
