Education is highly valued in the United States, as it should be. There are more students attending colleges or furthering their education than ever before. This is because education is an important part of the future of the individual, and of the future of the world. I believe we are given educations to better our future.

When asked, most people will say that they are bettering their education to get a better job or make more money. This is true because employers favor intelligent employees. Not many say they attend college merely to expand their minds or just for the experience. It is to better their individual futures. The idea that a better education can increase your yearly salary entices those who want to support themselves or their families and ensure security in the future.

Many receive an education for future financial security, but others want to make a difference in the world. Whether it's a scientific discovery, or just simply helping someone out, and education can lead to something great. Bettering one's education for the benefit of those around them is one of the many positive outcomes of expanding the mind.

Everyone has their opinions on education, but I believe the purpose of education is to improve the world and the lives of the people in it. Education is what put a man on the moon,leads to influential pieces of literature, and allows us to understand more about ourselves. It has always, and will continue to change the way we live and how we think. A better education will result in a better world.
