Prioritize and Live Life to the Fullest by Justin - March 2019 Scholarship Essay
Prioritize. Freshmen year is a big change. High school is coming and it’s going be busier than ever. You’re going to be swamped with sports, music, studies, friends, relationships, college prep, jobs, and much, much more. It will be very easy get crushed and overwhelmed from trying too hard to fit it all at once. Or you will just feel like giving up and stop bothering to even try. It’s just too much.
You need to prioritize to make the most of your time. Think about the things that must be done and the things that you want to do. And order them all and set aside time for the ones most important to you. Because with the boulder of high school rolling your way, you will need to adjust or you’ll be crushed.
You also need to think about how what you do now will affect your future. Look ahead. What do you see? If you have college or career goals, now is the time to start planning and preparing. If you see your career, go ahead and gain all the experience you can. If you see financial difficulties lying ahead with college tuition, prepare now with part-time jobs and scholarship applications.
But one important thing to prioritize is…fun. This season will come and go like all the others in your life, and there will never be another like it. So enjoy it. Savor it.
Yes, plan and prepare all you can; you will be thankful you did. But in all your studies, activities, friendships, experiences, live your life to the fullest. Be thankful for the past, look forward to the future, and most of all enjoy today.
