New Year's Planning Resolution by Junathen - January 2016 Scholarship Essay

As a senior who is about to graduate, there is a large amount of deadlines for scholarships, colleges, and high school that I need to meet in order to move on through life and become successful. Keeping up with these deadlines can be tough and that is why my New Year’s resolution for 2016 is to create and use a planner to help me remember all the deadlines I have and what I need to do by those dates.
If I add everything I need to keep track of into the planner then I will never miss any opportunities that have presented themselves. I will always have any materials I need for a scholarship such as essays, transcripts, and recommendation letters prepared on time. I also will not miss the application dates for any of the colleges I plan to possibly attend. I will check the planner daily for upcoming events so that I always have an adequate amount of time to put together any of the necessary materials as well as gather the money I may need to cover admission costs.
Not only is the planner a good idea for scholarship and college purposes, but I can also put it to use within high school for these last few months. For someone like me who is taking multiple honors or advanced placement courses, dates can get confused and mixed around in my head quite easily. This happened plenty of times in past years and has made my GPA lower than what it could have been. With a planner I will be able to write all assignments down and see ahead of time what I need done and by when. This should give me a small boost to my GPA before I graduate. The planner will assist me not just in the classrooms, but also in remembering what dates to pay the different senior fees on. You cannot graduate if you have not payed your senior fees so that is a vital thing to remember if I ever want to have a successful future.
Beginning the 2016 year by starting a planner will only make my life easier. It will bring up my GPA and greatly reduce stress. That is why creating a planner is my New Year’s Resolution.
