Importance Of Leaders! by Juan - March 2015 Scholarship Essay

I strongly believe that leadership skills in college are very important! I strongly believe this because if you have leadership skills you set examples yourself. Leaders know what to do and do whatever it takes to succeed. In college there is no one who is going to tell you to do your work, study for test, or attend class. Having these skills will help you succeed because a leader knows what he has to do to move forward.

Another reason why I believe it is important because not everyone has leaderships skills coming to college, for example they will be watching others see how they do things. We can assume most of these people will be freshman, transitioning from high school to college will be no easy matter because we were always told what to do and to study, but coming to college you are on your own. If you don’t know what to do our natural human instinct is to watch others and follow. So if we have some leader out there to show the people with out these skills then they eventually will get the hang of it themselves to pass on to future generations.

This would have to be the most important trait to bring into college for the reasons I have stated. It is just a positive skill to bring because it not only betters you but also some people around you. Without these leaderships I believe it will be a tough in college.
