A Major Key by Josie - April 2016 Scholarship Essay
As I reach the end of my high school career in the next couple of months, there is one key to success that should be made known to all the younger students. Most of the time younger students are told the most important thing in being successful is to be organized, punctual. As those things are important in being successful, they are not the most important part. The major key to success for younger students is not to procrastinate at all.
Procrastination can be very dangerous for most students. It is getting worse for each generation; it is starting earlier and earlier. In high school, I really struggled turning in my assignments in on time, because I would do them all the night before if not the class period before. When I turned work in like that, it was not good work. It would get me something besides a zero. I would recommend that if student would like to well in high school to start doing the assignment the day that it is given. Take time to do the work, and do not throw something together at the last minute. No one benefits from last minute. The student learns nothing, and it was a waste of the teachers time grading it.
Procrastination is deadly and dangerous. All younger kids should stay away. Once started, it is very hard to stop. It is better off to start the right way by doing the work on time. When it comes to deadlines, make a working chart. It can show when work should be done over a period of time. It is better to always get the work out of the way than have to do it later when everyone else is already done. No one does well working under pressure like that. All youngrer students have been warned about the danger of procrastination.
